My grandson was thrilled, I didn't tell him what was in the box and he thought it was a replacement present, to see his face light up was worth all the effort
He is 10 years old and had waited 2 months to get his Christmas present, at no time did he ever ask me if I was still trying to get it for him......obviously I was very proud of his attitude. So it was a fitting reward for him.
