![]() | We brought a mindstorms NXT 2.0 last year and competed in FLL (First Lego League) and had awesome fun. Our team loved using the set and are competing this year. I thoroughly recommend this product to you!!! For more information visit http://www.firstlegoleague.org/ or http://kiwifirst.org/ Ulysses, auckland |
![]() | We ordered Mindstorms NXT from IQToys on Sunday night and it was on the doorstep in Christchurch on Tuesday. This must be one of the most expensive toys that I have ever bought and IQToys was the very cheapest place to buy it. This toy is suitable for children from 8 to 80+ years of age. The paper manual was not great but the online tutorials are excellent for the older generation. Kids just get on with it. You can use this kit to construct robots for the National Robocup Junior competition: http://www.robocupjunior.org.nz/ Older kids can replace the Lego software with Lejos Java: http://lejos.sourceforge.net/ and restore the Lego software at will. The Lego software source code and schematics are also available so you may design your own extensions: http://mindstorms.lego.com/Overview/nxtreme.aspx This is a toy that will appeal to technically minded boys and girls which they will never grow too old for. TIP1 Have 6 x AA batteries ready so that you can start immediately. TIP2. Buy a spare light sensor so that you can compete in the Robocup Rescue competition. Richard Jones, Christchurch |
![]() | Very good toy always loved Lego and K’nex and that sort of stuff. Pretty cool how you can program it to do different things to for an example make it walk around and do things for you. It’s a bit like having a servant really. Matthew , Christchurch |
![]() | A truly awesome toy or should I say computer/robot/game. I already had the first NXT and brought this one for the new software functions (easy to use blue tooth more programing blocks and tools you would need to know how too use C). The colour sensor is a bonus as well giving more robot options. If you have a NXT 1.0 I would recommend this for the added parts and to use blue tooth. If you are new to NXT then I say jump In if they are lucky your kids may even get to play with it. Bob Lee, Taumaranui |
