This is a great ball. Our toddler can throw and catch with it and my husband enjoys playing with our 7yo with it also. It's great for encouraging that vital gross motor skill set because of the success the kids have in catching with it - what they'd probably miss with a full surface ball, they're likely to catch with the oball because they can grab onto a small bit of it. We also have the smaller one, which sees a lot of cricket and tennis as well as throwing and catching.
