Description

The Kereru (NZ Wood Pigeon) is a large bird and an important seed disperser, being the only fruit-eater capable of swallowing large native tree seed such as Karaka, Nikau and Puriri. Its 'coo' call is soft but penetrating. They can grow up to 51 cm long.

Press the sound box inside this soft toy to hear the distinctive 'coo' call of the Kereru. The sound was originally recorded from a real Kereru. Measures approximately 22 cm long.
