Author Biography
Diana Neild is a musician who lives in Palmerston North (and plays a mean saxophone), and has a wonderful ear for rhyme and rhythm and a very special love of this little piglet. Philip Webb has brought life and humour to the Jig family from Karori. The Wellington-based illustrator has been illustrating children’s books for years; including the Scholastic title Dragor, an Honour Book at the NZ Post Children’s Book Awards.

The children’s grandparents arrive laden with presents, the Christmas cake is iced, and the house is festooned with decorations. The children decide to put on a Christmas concert and Piggity’s initial excitement turns quickly to displeasure when he discovers his role in the play. Who will take his place if he pulls out? Will he be given another role? This is a beautifully told story of a family gathering together to celebrate Christmas and the combined efforts from everyone that ensures the show goes ahead. The rhythm and rhyme of the story keeps it moving along at a good pace and maintains the listener’s attention. This is a great book to read aloud to your children or grandchildren.
